Kids BJJ in Vienna:
Classes for Ages 4 to 10
Kids BJJ in Vienna for two age groups: little ones aged 4 to 6 and kids aged 7 to 10. Playful, in small groups and with coaches who teach discipline, respect and self-confidence just as much as technique. Teens aged 11 to 15 have their own class.
What kids learn in BJJ in Vienna
Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu has no punches and no kicks. That makes it a martial art kids can learn safely: control instead of violence, technique instead of strength, and the moment someone taps out, it stops.
- 01
Movement and coordination
Rolling, falling, crawling, balancing: playful drills that build body awareness and mobility.
- 02
Basic positions
Guard, mount and side control explained for kids: Where am I, and what do I do here?
- 03
Self-defense
Escaping grabs and holds, staying safe on the ground, getting up and walking away.
- 04
First techniques
Sweeps, escapes and simple submissions, slow and controlled, with lots of repetition.
- 05
Respect and rules
Greeting, listening, looking out for your partner: values that stay with you off the mat, too.
- 06
Games and positional sparring
Every class ends with games or light sparring, so there’s always plenty of fun.

Your kids coach:
Prof. Petar Pecija
Petar teaches the kids classes himself. As head coach, he knows what matters with children: clear rules, lots of praise, short explanations and a safe environment where every child learns at their own pace. He’s supported by the academy’s coaching team.
Why BJJ for kids?
Kids who train BJJ develop discipline, respect and appreciation for others while improving their fitness, coordination and flexibility. They learn to defend themselves without hurting anyone, and that builds healthy self-confidence. All in a motivating, safe environment with kids their own age.
Since there are no punches or kicks, the risk of injury is low. Our coaches make sure partners are matched by size and experience, and every tap ends the situation immediately.

„About a year ago I’ve brought my 7 year old son to a trial training. It looked such fun, I’ve also tried out next the week. Now a year later my younger daughter also wants to try and join … so be careful, it’s a very nice place and easy to get hooked on.“
