How to make the most of open mat in Vienna

Open mat is your lab: no coach telling you what to work on, but always experienced partners ready to join in. What you make of it is up to you.

  1. 01

    Free sparring

Rounds with rotating partners, gi or No-Gi, intensity agreed between you.

  2. 02

    Drilling techniques

Repeat what was taught in class until it runs on autopilot.

  3. 03

    Breaking down situations

Take a position that bugs you in sparring, pick it apart with a partner and solve it.

  4. 04

    Competition prep

Extra rounds before a tournament, with partners in your weight class.

  5. 05

    Meeting visitors

Grapplers from other academies and cities drop by regularly. New styles, new questions.

  6. 06

    Flow rolling

Relaxed rounds with little resistance to feel transitions and timing.

What our members say

Google review · 5 stars (translated from German)

„When I arrived, a friendly member greeted me and quickly explained everything. 20 € for a drop-in is a bargain, too! The mats were clean and hygienic. The training itself was easy to follow and well structured.“
